Salt Lake City’s Open Streets May 31,2015

Open Streets events promote community pride, local business, air quality, and physical activity, while encouraging the use of streets as a public space for the community to interact. Salt Lake City is excited to be hosting its 2nd annual Open Streets on May 31st from 11am-3pm. We’ll be there on our bikes enjoying the festivities with our family and friends.

This year, Salt Lake City will be highlighting the 9-Line connection; the event will take place on 900 South and span from the Central Ninth neighborhood at 200 West to Liberty Park at 600 East. The goal for Open Streets is to temporarily open these city streets exclusively to walking, jogging, bicycling, rollerblading, and more. This event will engage the community in a variety of activities including exercise and dance classes, yoga, sports, music performances, outdoor art projects and family-friendly games. Open Streets will also be connecting with Tour de Brewtah, an annual charitable cycling event.
